Das Institute of Latin American Studies der Universität Stockholm hat einen erfreulichen Schritt in Richtung Freier Zugang zum Wissen getan und die renommierte Zeitschrift Iberoamericana – Nordic Journal of Latin American and Caribbean Studies vom closed auf open access umgestellt. Dazu schreibt die Stickholm University Library: «Reaching Out with Open Access – A new era for Latin American Studies in the Nordic Region»:
As of October the Iberoamericana – Nordic Journal of Latin American and Caribbean Studies is published openly online, replacing its print edition since 1977 with a more accessible format. The Institute of Latin American Studies at Stockholm University covers the publication costs. The journal’s Editor-in-Chief Andrés Rivarola Puntigliano wants to offer a re-invented platform to reach the most qualified authors.

Iberoamericana – Nordic Journal of Latin American and Caribbean Studies is one of the leading interdisciplinary and bi-lingual journals. It is managed by the Institute of Latin American Studies of Stockholm University in collaboration with other Nordic universities with the aim to present good quality research about Latin America.
The journal publishes original manuscripts that address Latin America and the Caribbean from any of the disciplinary approaches of the social sciences and humanities. Researchers from all over the world are welcome to submit their manuscripts, in English or Spanish.
Iberoamericana Relaunch:
Iberoamericana – Nordic Journal of Latin American and Caribbean Studies is going through a transformation, from the print media to the digital media. The Editorial Team is excited to make the journal content more available to a wider audience by improving the digital tagging of content and releasing the full text for anyone to read through an Open Access publishing model. The first editorial under this new scheme can be read for free here.
