Sefarad: la diáspora occidental en el Caribe
Mapping western sefardic dispora in the Caribbean
Con la reconquista del Brasil neerlandés por Portugal (1654) y la huida de los marranos a Ámsterdam, Nueva York y las colonias holandesas e inglesas en el Caribe; comenzó la colonización de Surinam, Curaçao, Barbados y Nieves, entre otras, por los judíos sefardíes. Renombrados científicos y especialistas debatirán en esta conferencia internacional sobre el Caribe como Jewish Place y la influencia de las comunidades sefardíes de Amsterdam, Hamburgo y Livorno en el desarrollo económico, cultural y religioso de dicho espacio judío.
Mit der Rückeroberung Holländisch-Brasiliens durch Portugal (1654) und der Flucht der Marranen nach Amsterdam, New York und in die holländischen und englischen Kolonien in der Karibik begann die Besiedlung von Surinam, Curaçao, Barbados, Nevis u.a. durch die sefardischen Juden. In der internationalen Tagung, an der Wissenschaftler aus Israel, den USA, England, Holland, Frankreich, der Schweiz, Tobago und Deutschland teilnehmen, wird die Karibik als Jewish Place und der Einfluss der sefardischen Gemeinden von Amsterdam, Hamburg und Livorno auf die wirtschaftliche, kulturelle und religiöse Entwicklung dieses jüdischen Raums diskutiert werden.
